One of my favorite trends this coming season is pinky blush outerwear. I like it because it's unexpected. Fall/Winter is typically awash with dark neutrals and jewel tones. But this winter is all about blush, a color more commonly reserved for the sugar sweet palettes of spring and summer. The great news is, this color is easy to pair with several classic winter colors. Try black to create contrast, gray for a softer pairing, or opulent oxblood for a unique take on tonal dressing... When it comes down to actually shopping, I adore this slightly more affordable option courtesy of Club Monaco. The super soft shade is virtually neutral, and it's an easy piece to dress up or down. Still a bit of an investment, but worth it if you live in a colder climate and need a fab new go-to coat this winter. The "Samone Coat" is available online via clubmonaco.com. The addition of fuzz downgrades these looks, creating a juvenile feel where these would be otherwise chic outfits. I'm all for mixing it up and throwing in unexpected elements, but this, to me just looks silly. Aside from the goofy, childish vibe, the look evokes memories reminiscent of late 90's raver style - something that seems so out of place for the fashion set. Bottom line, save the fuzz for your sweaters and move on.
Feel free to chime in if you have a different opinion, I'd love to hear other takes on this trend... From left to right: Chinese Laundry "I Spy" for $110, DV by Dolce Vita "Coral" for $129, and Steve Madden "Cinch" for $129. Okay so...I'm dying for a pair of deep oxblood booties to rock this fall. The problem is, there are just too many options out there, hence sometimes I tend to want more than one pair of shoes in seemingly similar styles. In this case, I've managed to narrow it down to three, and I think I might know which pair I'm leaning towards, but I'm not convinced. This is where you come in!! Help me decide. Which pair do you like best? Which would you buy for yourself? Considering that the quality and price point are similar across the board, this is purely a question of style. Hoping to nail this down and make a purchase asap, even today if possible. So please, please let me know what you think. Comments are appreciated and will absolutely factor into my decision :))
