A quick note to say Happy Christmas! Somehow this time of year always seems to fly by and and I can't believe it's Christmas already. I'm headed off to a big dinner party tomorrow night, and whatever your plans may be (even if you don't have any at all) I thought I'd share this wear-anywhere holiday sweater look. Pair your own sweater with black coated skinnies, sleek booties, and a festive, dangling necklace for an outfit that's simple yet stylish. Voila! Best wishes for a joyful holiday :)

The Look...This past week, I had the pleasure of attending my boyfriend's holiday dinner with colleagues. The dinner took place in a private party room at popular local Italian restaurant. It was the first professional dinner I've attended on my bf's side and of course I wanted to look stylish without looking over (or under) dressed. The weather has finally turned cold here, especially at night, so I opted to pile on the layers in a body-con sweater dress with tights and a deconstructed boucle jacket. To keep it interesting and avoid looking stuffy, I punched up the look with some choice accessories. Jewelry, shoes, and other accessories can often make or break an outfit. If I would have gone with black boots as my bf suggested, this look would have been a bit boring for my taste. With super sleek leopard booties and some edgy jewelry, I felt perfectly put together. And while most people showed up in jeans, I felt way confident and grown-up in this stand-out ensemble. The Accessories...1. BaubleBar Astro Druzy Strand, sold out, similar style for $32.
2. JewelMint Raven Talon Ring, current special - three rings for $29.99. 3. ShoeDazzle Kolfinna Bootie, 40% off for one week only, regular price $39.95. The Shoe...The Style...Fashion happens so fast these days. The industry is in constant motion and there's always something new to lust after. Prime example - spring shoes are already starting to pop up in stores and online...and it's mid-December. Seriously, So Cal only just cooled down to allow for some winter weather. But the allure of spring is undeniable. As much as I pore over boots and outerwear as soon as that September issue hits stands, springtime fashions are my hands-down fave. I love bright colors and the promise of warm weather ahead. And when it comes to shoes, high-heeled sandals are a personal wardrobe staple. Unique styles especially catch my eye. So when I spotted this particular new release from Jessica Simpson, I knew I'd have to have her. The "Thunder" platform boasts an awesome architectural cut-out wedge and vibrant green suede straps. Though I can't wait to wear this sandal bare-legged come spring, I'm all about utility and versatility. Something about the pop of black patent in the wedge combined with the richness of suede makes it possible to pair this shoe with a fabulous winter ensemble like the one pictured above. And black tights with bright shoes is a definite fashion "do", so don't feel funny wearing tights with these sandals, I guarantee it can be done! Of course I couldn't help but throw in my idea for a fun, flirty look to try once the weather starts to heat up again...true Cali girl here :) If you love "Thunder" as much as I do, you can find her online at Macy's or Nordstrom for about $119.
I just can't help myself...behold another Sole Society post! What can I say? I absolutely love shoes. They make me so very happy. Hence, I was super stoked today when SS announced their holiday sale. 33% off a large selection of styles. And lucky me, three of my favorite styles (pictured above) are included in the sale. Gabrielle in grey, Calypso in cobalt, and Miley in brule. That's three fabulous pairs of shoes for just over $100. How can you go wrong? Treat yourself today and have them in time for New Year's Eve.
